WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS PROGRAM?
This course will help you to learn more about all the Set Pieces that exist in football. You will complete it through a story that will put you in the shoes of a professional coach, challenging you to overcome all kinds of situations and obstacles during the process. In addition, you will discover every aspect of the Set Pieces and have access to real statistics, giving more value and importance to the content presented in the course. We will analyse the actions in both attack and defence, so that you can identify all the patterns, advantages, and disadvantages of both your own and your opponent’s Set Pieces.
The aim is to give you all the possible tools to optimise your own team’s performance on the pitch. To do this, you will also learn about the methodological approach – how to prepare Set Piece training tasks out on the pitch.
Finally, you will be introduced to the most advanced technological analysis tools and learn how to use them to compile information, order it and interpret it according to methodological patterns, leading you to face the competition with a professional analysis of your own team and of the opposition. All of this will be done autonomously but also through sharing your learning with the community and the tutors.

- To identify, describe and evaluate the behaviour of teams in all of the different Set Pieces.
- To optimise the skills and abilities of your team's players in order to obtain a better performance in competition.
- To assess and improve individual player behaviour to enhance performance in their actions.
- To learn how to observe the opponent and thus be able to propose possible strategies to exploit weaknesses and nullify their strengths.
- To be more creative in the preparation of attacking Set Pieces. At the same time, to possess more tools in defence to anticipate the opponent's behaviour.
- To design and coach training tasks with progression for the development of the Set Piece out on the pitch. The most effective strategies, methods, techniques, and technologies for analysing the game.
- To gain knowledge in the use of analysis software and in the development of projects.
- To know how to communicate data through reports, proposals for action and methodological patterns.
COURSE PROGRAM
Congratulations, you have just joined as an assistant coach! A new season is beginning, which means many challenges lie ahead. We know it will be weeks of hard work, but in the end, it will surely be worth it. Over the coming weeks, you will face top teams, requiring you to analyze their characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses in detail to maximize our chances of success. To achieve this, you will go through the different phases of the learning process: study the theory in the dressing room, put it into practice during training sessions, apply what you have learned in matches, and finally, share your insights during the press conference.
At the end of each module, small challenges will be set to encourage sharing and discussion with other students in the coaching community.
Learn about Set Piece Actions (SPs)Â and its current impact on the game, as well as the use of the analysis software that you will utilise during the course.
Go deeper into the attacking objective principles that teams have and the behaviours to prevent shooting opportunities in these actions.
We will analyse in full detail the different types of actions and behaviours identified in attack. As well as this, we will discover the characteristic principles in the defensive phase.
Throw ins are one of the most overlooked and often neglected actions in the game. We will discover how to gain advantages in attack and how to anticipate it in defence.
We will learn about the different free kicks and their characteristics in order to provide more tools for analysis.
We will present various factors in the penalties both for and against to increase the chances of success for our players.
In full detail, we will analyse the structures, objectives, and behaviours of teams’ goal kicks.
We will finish the course by learning how to apply training tasks centred on the previous studied content.
